A stretchy but firm bracelet made from powder coated metal. The Kaiko Wrist Spikey comes in 4 sizes allowing you to choose and vary the strength of the sensory input depending on your preference and wrist size.--
From Kaiko Fidgets, a stretchy metal Wrist Spikey in a range of sizes.
Ideally suited if you like strong sensory input. The Wrist Spikey Fidget is one of Kaiko Fidgets' most popular products for those who need deep and focused pressure to assist with self-regulation.
Made of a black-powder coated carbon steel metal that is woven to be stretchy and flexible.
Stretchy but firm, the Wrist Spikey Fidget is ideal if you:
- Enjoy strong sensory input.
- Pick at your skin, fingernails and clothing.
- Have anxiety.
Discreet and noiseless, the Wrist Spikey looks like a trendy piece of jewellery you can wear anywhere. It's a great way to keep your hands busy at work or when out and about, allowing you to stim wherever you are.
Some ways to use the Wrist Spikey...
- Roll up and down the arm
- Rub between two palms
- Hold in one or two hands to fidget
- Wear on wrist and flick
- Place on wrist and twist around, applying varying degrees of pressure dependent on preference. This technique has been particularly helpful for some in minimising self harm. It can provide the 'hurt' without the harm to the skin. Of course, the Wrist Spikey does not replace accessing professional help but it's a useful tool for the kit bag.
- Rub it on parts of body to replace picking, such as lips
How to choose the right size:
The Wrist Spikey comes in 4 sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large
The unstretched internal diameter measurements are:
Small 3cm – super intense sensory input for adults to use as needed, then take off.
Medium 3.5cm – intense sensory input for adults to use as needed, then take off.
Large 4cm – All day wear for petite-sized wrists.
Extra Large 5cm – All day wear for the majority of adults.
When choosing a size, you'll want to factor in not just the size of your wrist, but also how you want it to feel when you wear it, and how long you'll be wearing it for.
Please note: When wearing the Wrist Spikey for any period of time, it's important to monitor the skin to ensure circulation isn't being compromised.
For short periods of high sensory input: Small and Medium work best
The smaller the Wrist Spikey, the more sensory input it provides.
Small and Medium sizes are great for immediate, strong input, but are generally not comfortable to wear all day. Instead, use them as required and then remove for use later.
For longer term wear – e.g. if wearing all day: Large and Extra Large are best
Most folks who like to wear a Wrist Spikey all the time opt for the Large or Extra Large depending on wrist size.
If you're wearing the Wrist Spikey throughout the day, you'll need a size that won't cause restriction. When using it in this way, it’s the pressure when you grip and twist the spikey with your other hand – rather than the size – that delivers the high sensory input.
Most adults will require the Extra Large for all-day wearing, whereas Large is for those with petite-sized wrists.
A size for every wrist and every use
The sizing of the spikey is very personal. Many who find it helpful end up getting one in each size, which they can then use in different contexts/situations.
If unsure, please don't hesitate to get in touch for further guidance.
- Includes storage container
- Range of sizes for different uses and wrist sizes
- Expandable carbon steel metal material
- The metal is highly durable but can be over stretched if used not in accordance with its typical use by rigorous stretching. It is not meant to be pulled significantly and will not recover if over stretched.
Miss my finger spikey
Very nice. Not as sharp as the finger spikey which I lost in the wash a few weeks ago. Wish you would stock those from Kaiko. But still very nice for sharp stimulation, hurt without harm.
Love My Brain
Thanks so much for taking the time to review Ebbe and for letting us know you'd like us to stock the Kaiko Finger Spikeys. We've had them in previously but weren't sure how keen folks were on them so it's really useful to have the feedback and we'll look into restocking – Alice
